About the Office

The Controller's Office primary function entails the financial accountability and receipt of all funds for the City of Muncie processed through the following transactions:

  • Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
  • Approves all purchases
  • Payroll
  • Permit Applications for Transient Merchants
  • Prepares all budgets
  • Reconciliation of all Bank Statements

Finance division

This division is headed by the City Controller and has the responsibility for all financial matters and other duties assigned by state law, city code, and the Mayor.
